Ross-On-Wye GC Team WIN 2024 SafeGolf Club Competition
The 2024 SafeGolf Club Competition returned to Stinchcombe Hill GC for a second year as they won again in 2023.
It was a lovely day for golf with warm, dry conditions and only the tall grass to grab the odd stray ball. 13 teams took part this year from across Gloucestershire County which made for a good competition. Teams of 4 players - 1 from each section of the club (Juniors, Ladies, Men & Seniors) made up the invited teams playing a stableford bowmaker. Nearest the pins were available on all the Par 3's and a 2's competition all up for grabs.
Players were also treated to a feast of sandwiches and chips on their return and prior to presentation. A BIG thank you to ALL at Stinchcombe Hill GC for hosting and for looking after me and the teams.
Congratulations to the Ross-On-Wye GC team of James Sayce, Chris Tweedale, Lorraine Fenner and Mark Whitmore winning with a score of 89pts closely followed in second place by Chipping Sodbury GC team of Joe Hawkins, Bret Palmer, Roz Morris and Philip Morris with 86pts. Picking up 3rd place was the Thornbury GC team of Mal Yeomans-Todd, David Weeks, Tina Thornton and Chris Golbourn on a 84pt countback from The Kendleshire GC.
