2024 Ladies Challenge Bowl

With the weather being unpredictable these days, to have a sunny one was a bonus as 18 ladies from all over the County came to Minchinhampton Old Course for the Ladies Challenge Bowl.

The cows and horses had not long been allowed out to graze on the common so the grass off the fairways was tough and caught out some of the players but undeterred they made their way round.

Prizes:  Nearest the Pins: 10th - Sue Jones (The Kendleshire) and 16th (in2) - Elizabeth Ponting (Cirencester)

4th place - Heather Cottrell (The Kendleshire) 25 pts on c/b - 3rd place - Sue Jones (The Kendleshire) 25pts on c/b

2nd place - Sandra Beard (Minchinhampton) 25 pts - 1st place Elizabeth Ponting (Cirencester) 28pts

Our thanks go to Eve Clements who started everyone off armed with gloves and towels incase they had to move their ball from the cows mess! and for the special gift of a golf ball with Minchinhampton Ladies 24 embelished on.  To everyone in the Clubhouse who looked after us very well and Management and Greenstaff for making the day one to remember!

'A quick note from me to say another thank you for arranging a super day’s golf today, definitely interesting!  Helen and I were so lucky to have Sandra to guide us - I’m not sure that even our modest scores would have been achieved without her help. A wonderful welcome, well organised (as usual) - even the attention to detail with a piece of kitchen roll and plastic gloves!  Fortunately not needed tho’ golf clubs needed a bit of a wash down.  Eve was a super host.'

Well done Everyone!
